InvivoGen offers a collection of codon-optimized plasmids for the expression of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) as well as various fragments:

These plasmids have been specifically designed for the expression and production of the Spike protein, or fragments, for the screening of novel inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 host entry (e.g. neutralizing antibodies) by cell-based or non-cell-based assays.

Plasmids for mammalian cell expression
These plasmids encode the full-length Spike protein* with either a functional furin cleavage site, suitable for fusion assays, or an inactive furin cleavage site for optimized surface expression and detection by flow cytometry.

Plasmids for expression and production of Spike protein fragments
These plasmids encode Spike fragments from the original isolate first identified in Wuhan. These fragments are tagged with a C-terminal Fc or His tag to facilitate their production. Additionally, they include an exogenous signal sequence to ensure maximum protein secretion and production. The use of these plasmids for tagged protein production has been confirmed in-house.
