Derivation This line was derived from BW5147.3 (ATCC TIB-47). Antigen Expression H-2k Comments The cells are resistant to 0.1 mM 6-thioguanine. Unlike the parental line, these cells are sensitive to HAT. Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%. Subculturing Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 x 105 cells/mL and maintain between 1 x 105 and 1 x 106 cells/mL. Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days Cryopreservation Complete growth medium described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO. Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X.
