Human and mouse G protein-coupled receptor 55 (GPR55) expressing HEK293 cells. GPR55, along with GPR119 and GPR18, have been implicated as possible novel cannabinoid receptors. Two endogenous ligands, lysophosphatidyl inositol and lysophosphatidyl glucoside, for GPR55 have been identified. Ongoing research has implicated GPR55 in a variety of normal and pathological processes, including cancer, axon guidance, synaptic transmission, immune function, and metabolic processes.Product Type: Cell Line Cell Type: HEK293 Organism: Mouse Source: Para-kidney tumor, adenovirus-transformed Morphology: Multi-polar and variable, adherent Biosafety Level: BSL-2 Subculturing: Trypsin/versene Growth Conditions: DMEM, 10% FBS, Fast growing, adherent, little contact inhibition Cryopreservation: 90% FBS, 10% DMSO Comments: It is best to keep the cells under selection with G418, but the GPR55 lines should be stable without selection for several passages. The amount of G418 depends on the lot and manufacturer. We would use the lowest concentration that kills HEK cells you have in house (usually 400-1000 microgram/mL).
