Cell line: KG-1a DSMZ no.: ACC 421Species: human (Homo sapiens)Cell type: acute myeloid leukemia (derivative of KG-1) Origin: established from the bone marrow of a 59-year-old man with erythroleukemia that developed into acute myeloid leukemia (AML); KG-1a is a subclone of AML cell line KG-1 (DSM ACC 14) described as "undifferentiated variant" Reference(s): 14679Biosafety level: 1 Permissions and restrictions: A DSMZ Cell Culture Data: Morphology:mostly single round or 1-2% giant cells growing in suspension, some cells are loosely adherent; image; imageMedium: 80% alpha-MEM (with ribo- and deoxyribonucleosides) or RPMI 1640 + 20% h.i.
