Combine ingredients and boil to dissolve agar. Dispense and autoclave at 121ºC.
If making plates, autoclave at 121ºC, let cool to 55ºC and dispense.

121ºC.
*To pre-reduce broth: Add all ingredients except L-Cysteine HCl. Bring medium
to boil to drive off oxygen. Cool down medium while bubbling with oxygen free
gas. Add L-Cysteine HCl and adjust pH to 6.8. Dispense under same gas phase
and autoclave at 121C.
Oxoid’s Lab-Lemco Powder (LP0029) corresponds to BD’s Beef Extract except it
gives a much lighter color to the medium. It may be substituted for Beef Extract if
desired.
BD and Oxoid Reinforced Clostridial formulations contain agar. This Modification
is agar-free.

Autoclave at 121ºC. Cool sterilized medium to ~47ºC. Aseptically add 50 ml of
room temperature defibrinated sheep blood. Gently mix and dispense as
required.

Follow same procedure as agar medium above.
If commercialized product is not available, Tryptic Soy Agar can be made from
