1. General Information
  • Cell Line Name: CHLA-255

  • Origin: Established from a metastatic site of a pediatric patient with neuroblastoma following intensive chemotherapy. [1]

  • Biosafety Level: 1 (BSL-2 recommended for handling human-derived materials).

2. Key Biological Features
  • MYCN Status:Amplified. Expresses high levels of the MYCN oncoprotein, representing the high-risk clinical subtype. [1, 2]

  • TP53 Status:Wild-type (WT). Unlike many other neuroblastoma lines, it retains functional p53, making it ideal for studying DNA damage response. [1]

  • Genetics: Exhibits classic neuroblastoma markers such as 1p chromosomal deletion.

Technical Tip:

CHLA-255 can exhibit heterogeneity in its growth pattern; sometimes it grows as semi-adherent clusters. If creating in vivo xenograft models, this line is noted for its high rate of engraftment and aggressive growth in NSG mice.
