• Establishment: Established in 1985 from the peripheral blood of a 45-year-old male with indolent cutaneous large-cell T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), 10 years after a diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma.

• Lineage Context: This is the precursor serial sister cell line to Mac-2A (ACC 991) and Mac-2B (ACC 992). Mac-1 represents the disease at an earlier, more indolent stage compared to the later "Mac-2" lines.
